5 Recommended Twitter Applications
Posted by Reyn | December 8, 2008
One of the fun element that I love in Twitter is its add-ons applications.
With the increase of its popularity, many programmers are creating many applications that make Twitter much more flexible and useful.
There are tons of Twitter applications out there and it will be growing exponentially by day. Some of them are a bit odd and rather useless (at least I still can’t find their functions to be of use in marketing). But some of them are extremely helpful.
Here are some 5 of the most useful applications that I’ve found so far:
- Twitter Feed
If you have a blog, then you’ll love this. Twitter Feed allows your blog updates to be publish on your Twitter automatically. Just enter the RSS feed URL of your blog, set the update frequency and every time you post a new blog entry, your followers will see that on your tweet.

This one is mostly for blogs as well. It’s actually similar to ShareThis. With TwitThis, you can ask your visitors to share the URL together with a short description with their twitter followers.

With Twhirl, you don’t actually need to open your browser to use it. Twirl is a desktop application that works just like an IM messenger. You can see the tweets come and go while you continue working.

On the go and don’t have time to tweet on your computer? Not to worry anymore. If you have iPhone or iPod Touch, you can download this mini application to send your tweet from your handheld gadget. Get it for free from iTunes store.
- Tweet Later
This is very helpful application for your Twitter arsenal. Tweet Later have unique features like auto-follow your followers, send direct message upon being followed and schedule your tweets. Its slogan says it all, “Productivity Tools For Busy Tweeple.” =)

This is just 5 of the many applications available for Twitter. If you want to find more applications, go to http://twitter.com/downloads and http://twitter.pbwiki.com/Apps. Have fun!
