Attraction Marketing With Social Media

Posted by Reyn | December 17, 2008

Do you use Twitter, Facebook or MySpace?

If you do, you know that this social networking sites are valuable tools for expanding your online presence and building your business.

But in reality, what most people do is either of these two:

  1. Networking with many friends but too subtle to promote their business - making no profits at all. Or…
  2. Promote their business blatantly, labeled as spammers and get removed from friends list.

Bottom line, they’re not making money at all.

So how to make money with social networking? Well, the answer might shock you… You don’t.

Yup, you read it right. You DON’T make money from social networking. Many expert marketers out there don’t use social networking sites as their cash farms.

So what is the right way of using social media marketing?

Watch this eye-opening video by a marketing genius, Perry Belcher:

You see, it’s not just about effective advertising. It’s about networking with the right people, attracting them to your ‘house’ and giving them value first. This way, they will label you as an expert or at least someone who know a good deal about that certain subject.

In the future, when they need something related to your expertise, your name will be among the first people that pop up in their head and this is the essence of attraction marketing.

So the next time you mingle in Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook etc, build friendship first. Once connection has been established, profit will come by itself.

That’s why we often see people using screen names like MLMLeads, WorkAtHome77 etc. Advertising names like these only scare people away.
