Network Marketing - Get Rich Quick Or Get Rich Quicker?
Posted by Reyn | January 20, 2009
Many distributors have this common misconception that network marketing is a get-rich-quick program. Of all pitfalls in network marketing, this one comes at the top of the list.
Here’s how this misconception is born…
The number one reason people joining network marketing is to make money. Now, from the point of view of advertisers, which one of these ads is more compelling for their prospects: get rich quick or get rich slowly but steadily?
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out this basic psychology of human being. Of course everyone wants to make money faster. But the blame should not be entirely given to the advertisers – it is beginners who seldom see behind the scene of those heavy hitters. Let me explain this further.
Have you ever heard about the iceberg theory?

Putting First Things First To Get The Results You Want
Posted by Reyn | January 17, 2009
Recently, I read Stephen R. Covey’s classic “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and wish I had read this book long time ago.
The part that really catch my attention is the third habit - put first things first. This habit talks about the concept of task & time management through differentiating between the meanings of urgency and importance.
In our society, most people are driven by the concept of urgency. “I need to be there by 5″, “I must answer that ringing phone”, “The deadline is tomorrow morning” and so on. Urgent things act on us and require our immediate actions. Although urgent matters are clearly visible and somewhat pressing, they are often not that important!
On the other hand, the concept of important drive us to do what needs to be done in order to get real results like networking, building relationship, planning your marketing system and so on. In short, urgent is focusing on tasks with short-term results while important is focusing on tasks with long-term results.
The Time Management Matrix below will explain how our tasks can be categorized based on urgency and importance:

Building Your Home-Based Business Like Building A Real House
Posted by Reyn | January 13, 2009
Building a home business like network marketing is very much like building a real house.
You first need to have a clear, concise blueprint of your future home. Then you need to work thoroughly from the first foundation pillar to last piece of the roof tile accordingly.
But in building home business, many entrepreneurs often get too caught up in the process and forget to see the big picture. They want to directly work on the project and finish it as soon as possible.
It’s quite a common sight seeing many beginners even forget to lay the foundation. Worse, once they put the cornerstone, they never bother to look at the blueprint again. They keep on working from the inside and wondering why they can’t tell the progress or what problems they may have.
Sometimes, it’s good to take a step back.

The Most Important Key To Recruiting Massive Downline
Posted by Reyn | January 11, 2009
When copywriting legend, the late Gary Halbert, was asked what would the most important thing be that he would need to write great copy, his answer was simple:
“Starving market!”
And in direct selling business like network marketing, the same rule applied.
If you ever wondered what it takes to grow your network marketing team massively, the key is definitely to first find a starving market.
The problem with many network marketing beginners is that they tend to be a psychic. They like to guess where to get hungry prospects and advertise on places that they FEEL are responsive. In other words, they do not do their research.
Worst, they do not track their result and end up not knowing which one is profitable and which one is burning a hole in their pocket.

3 Deadliest Sins In Network Marketing
Posted by Reyn | January 8, 2009
As a network marketer yourself, you may have come across many temptations and pitfalls that could hinder you from getting your desired outcome.
In this post, I’m going to talk about some of the mistakes most networkers made. All of them are the result of wrong mindset, misinformation and misjudgment.
Here are 3 deadliest network marketing sins that need to be avoided at all costs and how to avoid them.
- Joining Too Many Programs at the Same Time
This is the most common mistake networkers make. Dreaming of multiple streams of income, they often end up with drained pocket. If you have more than one programs running concurrently, your focus will inevitably be divided.
It will be hard if you’re a beginner. You might not know how to run the system yet. In the beginning, your objective is to understand how network marketing works. Start with one program and stick with it. In reality, a lot of network marketing heavy hitters only have one program until the end.
You don’t have to worry about multiple income streams. The growth of your organization is exponential. It means that after you reach a certain critical level, your team will grow significantly and it’s better to maintain the growth of your current team rather than making a new one.

Sharing, Selling And Marketing - Are They The Same?
Posted by Reyn | January 4, 2009
Here is the ironic reality – when the term ‘network marketing’ was coined, everyone focuses on the first word rather than the second. In other words, they go around networking instead of marketing!
Most distributors do not have a clue what marketing is all about.
They go about recruiting friends and family on their name list while deluding themselves into thinking that they are ‘sharing’ or ‘marketing’ their products to people.
MYTH: Network marketers are not in sales, they are merely sharing products with other people. (The optimists think they’re marketers.)
TRUTH: Network marketers who don’t have a system in place are actually in pure SALES. What they are actually doing is SELLING an idea to others, not sharing. Whether they are selling the product or the opportunity, they are trying to convince people to change their mind about what their offer. In short, they hard-sell like door-to-door salesman.

New Year Resolution - How To Snap Out Of Your Slump And Kick Ass!
Posted by Reyn | January 1, 2009
It’s 2009 now!
A brand new year has just begun and I believe you’ve already have a plan in your mind about what you’ll be achieving in this one year ahead.
I congratulate you even more if you’ve already written your goals in clear sentences.
Now that you’ve determine the outcomes of this year, it’s time to put your plan into actions. But unfortunately, this is where many people abandon their blueprint and end up procrastinating till the end of the year.
At first, they picture this seemingly ideal situation where everything come into place perfectly without problems or delays. Yet on the first day they get out to do it, they are hit by the reality that it’s not as easy as they think it would be. One problem after another keep on coming. One commitment after another that they’ve never expected to have keep popping up.
Over the time, they keep doubting their strategies and the question “will I ever be able to do it?” ringing in their heads. Soon enough, their dreams will just be dreams. They quit.
This is what we call ‘New Year resolution relapse’.
So the question is, how do we get ourselves into the state where we are motivated to execute our plans and consistently work towards our goals? I have a good news and a bad news for you.
