This Is Why You Should Not Join Network Marketing
Posted by Reyn | February 12, 2009
I don’t know about you, but I have received so many emails from people asking me to join my business…but not in the way I expected them to be.
Just a few days earlier, someone was asking me about my network marketing opportunity. He said, “Reyn, I just look at your offer and I’m interested to join. But I can’t afford the monthly payment.”
Previously, someone even approached my with a heart-breaking story. She said…
“Reyn, I just been fired from my company and I have to look for my sick mother as well. Please help me, I need to get at least $1,000 per month by next month in order to survive.”
Now, I’m not trying to be harsh here, but I’m not running a government social organization. I’m running a business to help entrepreneurs build their own businesses…but not out of desperation.
I do care about her problem and that’s why I declined her offer to join me. If your economy is that unstable, you’d better be looking for another job.
I don’t know why some people think this way, but if you decide to join network marketing because you’re desperate to quick-fix your financial trouble, you’re coming to the wrong place.
Oh! Wait a sec…I think I know why…
“SHOCKING! A Desperate Shop Clerk Turned Network Marketing Millionaire In Just 18 Months Without Talking To A Single Prospects And You Can Unlock His Lazy Secrets Today.”
Yeah, I think you just saw this kind of ads and drew a conclusion, “hmm… these guys were in my position once and had risen to the top. I think I can do the same to get me out of debt soon. It’s unlikely, but maybe I even end up being a millionaire…who knows?”
I’m sorry I have to be the one shattering your little ‘perfect’ plan, but that’s the biggest reason why out of 100 people joining network marketing, 97 crash and burn: Wrong expectation.
First of all, even though those heavy hitters were once pathetic losers, they were not as desperate as you think. At least in their mind…
They didn’t go out there and started this business with a desperate mindset. They have a powerful entrepreneurial mindset that enabled them to broke out of the rut and achieve financial freedom.
Second, if you’re entering the network marketing arena because you ‘need’ money, then you’re still aiming for security. Security is for employee…that’s why there are jobs out there. But that’s not how you play here. That’s not how financial freedom works. It’s quite redundant, but financial freedom is for people with deep desire to achieve freedom, not security.
And when you aim for freedom, you must face some insecurities at the beginning. There’s no boss to tell you what to do, no steady paycheck, no over-time pay and no guarantee you will make money. You are not an employee anymore. You have a serious business that requires your undivided attention and initiative.
So before joining network marketing, my question to you is, are you ready to face this kind of challenges? Are you ready to work your butt off without securities? Are you ready to become a REAL entrepreneur?
If you are not ready, then seriously…a job is more suitable for you.

I agree with what you mentioned. MLM should not be the alternative to quick cash. And its precisely because most people has that misconception, that is why MLM has readily been deemed as a get rick quick kind of thing..
Which is kind of unfair to us, the real serious MLMers building long term business… isn’t it?

True. That’s why we, legitimate MLM entrepreneurs, are wrongfully being labeled as con artists too.
