Why Cold Calling Is Not As Effective Anymore?
Posted by Reyn | December 11, 2008
Does your company or your upline suggest you to recruit like a sleazy telemarketer?
Does going through list of numbers guarantee that you will sponsor new people?
If calling 10-20 strangers a day or shaking hands with anyone within your 3-foot range, asking their phone numbers then pitching your opportunity is what your team are doing and it’s working just fine, then DON’T change it.
But if after going through all that and you’re still dead in the water, maybe you need to rethink your way of doing business.
For most people, here’s the reason why cold calling is not working effectively:
- They can’t sell. Even if they can, NOT ALL of their downline can sell like them.
- People hate being sold to from out of nowhere. Do you like door-to-door salespeople? (Even if you are a door-to-door salesperson yourself, I bet you won’t like them coming to your house).
- Cold calling strangers cause the one on the receiving end to bring up their defenses because they don’t know you and they cannot see your face.
- If you are a total stranger, chances are, they will not buy from you because they will think you are just trying to get into their pocket.
- There are a lot of phone scams nowadays! People will think you’re just one of them and hang you up.
If those reasons are not enough, think about the phone bill you’ll receive at the end of the month.
I want you to be brutally honest with yourself. Do you really believe you and all your downline can achieve success this way?
Those who revert to the old way of making name lists and cold callings argue that it’s just the way it is. Some will, some won’t, so what? NEXT!
Actually, this is the true character of a winner to never give up. But if it gets you little to no results and you keep doing it, it’s just pure insanity. Remember that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different result.
So why don’t we approach this problem the smarter way…
What if we can filter OUT those who won’t and focus on those who WILL? Don’t you think it will save you lots of time and money? Don’t you think you will get a better result?
I mean, wouldn’t you rather work with those who are willing to work rather than waste your time with those who aren’t willing?
If you want to know how you can stop calling those ‘cold’ leads and instead be chased by qualified prospects, then watch my next post about Attraction Marketing. Meanwhile, take a deep thought about what I just shared with you…
